I am looking for a full time otter pilot for www.skydivetecumseh.com in Michigan for the summer and somewhere south for the winter.  Insurance is 1000 TT and 100 Multi.  Let me know if you are interested even if your hours are close.

Ok, this topic is over 1 1/2 years old, but time for a reply.  If there were more than 2 messages on this subject I'd say there might be a need for another topic: Otter Pilot's for Hire.

Well, it's the beginning of the 2007 season and sure enough Skydive Spaceland needs an otter Diver Driver.  We're looking for an experienced Diver Driver for the 2007 season and beyond. The job we have is in the Boston area for 6 months (or more if they need us there) then back to Houston.  We're looking for a jump pilot that is ready to go without training in jump operations.  If you're the man (or woman) for the job then contact either Me (Rabbitt Staib: Rabbittpilot(at)gmail.com) or the owner (Steve Boyd: skydivespaceland(at)msn.com).  The position will be filled by May 1st, so if you're lurking and know of someone that will fit the bill please have them contact us.

BTW: Since this is a forum let's through this out there:  Where do you advertise for Diver Drivers for full time positions.  There's not alot of us out there and I can't think where I'd look for a job flyin' skydivers.  The suggestion presented before is to get your face in front of the operator till he hires you, but now I find myself on the other end, and don't know where to get my face in front of other pilots.  Any suggestions?

Peace,

Dropzone.com and flightinfo.com.  Flightinfo.com might be great for you since many jump pilots or former jump pilots with contacts might not lurk the DZ.com forums.  I think Flightinfo.com charges 10 bucks for a new profile but it could be well worth your trouble.  I think another site is findapilot.com.  I hear people commenting on DD jobs there too.

Thanks Chris, I told Steve about your post and he's got that going for him also.  Got several resumes and he's going through the list but is still looking.  Here's the add he put on DZ.com and the others, but I thought I'd put it up here again as you have multiple lurkers here.

DHC6 Pilot $25/ Load
Experienced Otter Pilot needed ASAP for dropzone in the Northeast. $25/Load and $2000/month Guaranteed. Accommodations and Transportation provided. Call 281-369-3337 or Email steve@skydivespaceland.com

They're going to take my stint so I can go back home and fly at Spaceland.  Right now I'm in Lebanon, Ohio for 3 weekends and then the plane will go back to Pepperell, Mass for the summer.

I would love to fly the Twin Otter one day. I am currently studying for my ATPL theory followed by CPL + ME/IR.
I am 19 years old and have 400+ hours, 220 hours dropping skydivers from the 182(300 hs) and the TP206D.

How can I put myself in the best position for a job on the Twin Otter? Start working for a DZ with single engine ops. and hope for an upgrade?

Keep doing what you're doing to build the time and somehow find a way to build some multi-engine time too.

I have and ATP, about 1900tt, 200 multi, and one jump load in an Otter, plus a few hours flying divers in a C207.  I can non-rev to most states in the lower 48.  Would love to fly the Otter again, or something else under the right conditions.
